I had so much fun, such good food, entertainment and beautiful surroundings. Very well organized, park anywhere on trolley route and ride the free trolley directly to the heart of Bastille days ...vive la france.
Bastille Days in Milwaukee is one of the best (and the only one that’s free) ethnic festivals of the summer. Great music, a variety of food vendors and lots of quaint places to sit and have a drink make it the place to be mid-July.
Had an amazing time at Bastille days in cathedral square park and I have to admit it was nothing like I expected in the best way because when I heard French festival I thought it might be a little boring and meant for the older crowd but I couldn't have been more wrong because there was live music and entertainment all around taking place on multiple stages playing plenty of fun music including classes rock and 90s and 00s hits. The number of different food vendors was very surprising with so many different options including classic festival foods but also French foods and dessert that there is something for everybody. Bastille days also offers plenty of vendors selling different types of French themed arts and crafts but also many selling various items like homemade desserts, household and outdoor garden decor, along with more than I was able to see plus the best part is that's many of the stores in the area take part in the festivities offering their own specials guaranteeing no matter where you're at in the area you're still part of the fun so I highly recommend Bastille days to anybody who has never been and I will be sure to attend next year and many more afterwards.
Fun evening out but nothing special. A little disappointed in the lack of French merch, seemed to be more African themed clothing and takeaways. Music and food was good.
Great music and awesome food selection and vendors.
This is one of my favorite festivals every year because it's in a different location than most others. Fun to check out different food and people watching is great. I would suggest taking The Hop to Cathedral Square to avoid crazy parking and traffic. My only fear is the festival is outgrowing its space.
There's nothing French about Bastille Days. No good food. No good music.. My only thought was that maybe they didn't try very hard because they thought No one would come the 1st year reopening.
Don't waste your time. The closest thing here to France was the French fries. Lol..
Glad to see this up and running again. I hope in the years to come we will see more bands and vendors. It’s a bit smaller than pre-Covid days, but it’s still a lot of fun. One of the things I look forward to every year.
Very fun. Lots of vendors. Free to walk around, food is a decent price. Live music. Crepes, stew, bar food, beer, etc. We really enjoyed just walking around and checking out the different tents. We walked, so I can't comment on parking, but it looked pretty full. Wonderful festival!
It was a fun time… definitely something to do that weekend and worth the visit.
